Nate Chavious ran for 293
yards and four touchdowns,
including scoring runs of 20 and 3 yards in the third
quarter as Bellport overcame a three-score deficit for a
56-36 win Saturday over Harborfields in Suffolk III.
Chavious tied the score at 20 with a 47-yard TD run with
1:29 left in the first half. Harborfields (1-4) regained the
lead, 23-20, on a 17-yard field goal by Tyler Phillips.
But Nick Fountis connected with Nick Constantino on a
30-yard TD pass to give Bellport (3-2) a 28-23 lead.
Chavious added two more rushing TDs and Alex Vargas
added a 28-yard scoring run and a 75-yard kickoff return
to seal it for Bellport.
Connor Cipp and Conor Haverty had 15 tackles each for Bellport.
Dylan Piscitelli had a 20-yard TD run for Harborfields
in the first and Andrew Widmer found Chris Tirrito for a 52-yard
TD pass early in the second to put Harborfields ahead 20-0.
