at Chicksands RAF Station, England. A
communications specialist, he previously
served with an Air Force support unit in
Turkey. Sgt. Buschbell is a 1966 graduate

Weekending to Nassau on board the

Florida vacation for Mr. and Mrs. Jerry

Frances Pelzman, captain of the varsity

Miss Frances Hand of South Country
Road will be retiring from the Brookhaven
Post Office as of Dec. 31, where she
has been employed for 33 years. Employees
and residents alike will miss her cheery hello.
A fire destroyed a rear storage warehouse
at Flaxman’s Furniture store, 400
West Main Street, Patchogue, last Saturday.
The damage to various furniture
items was estimated at about $10,000 by
Richard Flaxman. The fire was discovered
by employee Edward Hodosky, a Vietnam
veteran home on 30 days’ leave before
returning to that war zone on Jan. 15,
who smelled smoke in the rear of the
store after opening up. The front of the
store was unaffected.
At their Dec. 18 meeting at the Congregational

trimmed a Christmas tree with decorations
they had made. Graduating from
