The Village of Patchogue will
inaugurate its Minibus transportation
program on Tuesday, Feb. 18. The village
has been divided into five routes, and
each route will be covered three times
per day, Tuesday through Saturday.
Miss Diane Pallas, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Frederick Pallas of Everett
Street, Patchogue, has been placed on
the Dean’s List at Rochester Institute
of Technology. She is enrolled in their
medical laboratory technology program
and will soon be completing her third year.
Sgt. George Loughlin of the Suffolk
County Police Department Fifth Precinct
received the Policeman of the Year award
from the Patchogue Moose Lodge at a
recent dinner and dance in his honor.
Donald Pendleton, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Daniel Skidmore of Patchogue, has just
completed eight weeks basic training at
Great Lakes Naval Base, Ill. He will now
be going to school in Memphis, Tenn.,
studying electronic navigation.
Patchoguers Mark Molinoff, age 13,
and his brother, Perry Molinoff, age 9,
both were winners of bronze medals
at an official NASTAR Slalom Race at
Waterville Valley, N.H., last week. The
race is a nationwide competition divided
into various age categories. This is the
second year that Mark won a bronze medal.
The Patchogue-Medford girls
basketball team continued its winning
streak by defeating Ward Melville last
week, 41-36. Scorers for Patchogue were
Madelaine Feindt, 12; Kitty O’Brien, 11;
Grace Scaros, 8; Peggy Niemschiek, 4;
Lori Trava, 4, and Lori Roe, 2.
Mr. and Mrs. Patsy Pascuzzo exchanged
wedding vows at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel
R.C. Church on Dec. 8, 1974. The bride is
the former Miss Brigid Mary Halligan of
County Mayo, Ireland. Patsy Pascuzzo
is the son of Mrs. Rose Pascuzzo and the
late Pasquale Pascuzzo of Patchogue.
Mark Stewart of Woodland Park Road,
Bellport, is among students who received
master’s degrees after completing their
work at the University of Wisconsin-
Madison. He received a master’s degree
in water resources management.
Lillian Holt has been named Bellport
High School 1974-75 Betty Crocker
Family Leader of Tomorrow. She has
just completed a program making her
eligible for early graduation at Bellport
High School in January 1975.
Mrs. Andrew Olsen of Station Road
spent four days last week in Rockville
Centre with her sister-in-law while her
brother was in the hospital.
Mrs. Frances Cornacchiulo of Country
Greens Drive was surprised at a baby
shower given in her honor at the home
of Mrs. Marie Tutino on Country Greens
Drive. The shower was given by Mrs.
Tutino, Mrs. Diane Giattino, Mrs. Claire
Cheesman. Mrs. Cathy DeMaio and Mrs. Sandra McInturff.
Miss Marguerite Ellen Petersen,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Rattatz of
Woodland Park Road, is a sophomore at
Pratt Technology Institute in Brooklyn.
She is majoring in art and has received
word that she is on the Dean’s List.
Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Shand Demarest
of Bellport announce the engagement
of their daughter, Wendy, to Robert
DiDio, son of Mr. and Mrs. Angelo
DiDio of Bellport. Miss Demarest is a
junior at Rider College, N.J. Mr. DiDio
has just received his associate degree at
Suffolk Community College in business
administration and plans to attend
Hofstra University in the fall. No date
has been set for the wedding.
The emergence of Willie Chaplin as
their floor leader, and an amazingly
successful performance from Steve
Smith up front were the key ingredients
last Friday night in a rousing 92-86
triumph by Bellport over William Floyd.
The win kept the Clippers, who have
been playing top-notch basketball lately,
sizzling toward a red-hot finish.

Twenty-four local residents attending
Suffolk County Community College have
been elected into Pi Alpha Sigma, the
college’s honor society. The honored
candidates are, Patchogue: Florence
Cardella, Donna Chumas, Barbara Fridrich,
Diana Gariepy, Irene Imbasciani, Patricia
Morabito, Debra Montemurro, Barbara
Ransome, Francis Rode, Glenn Stump
and Cathy Sullivan; East Patchogue:
Theresa Austin, Lawrence Harley, Wesley

President of the Advisory Board of
Brookhaven Memorial Hospital for 1975
is Arthur Fuccillo, well-known Patchogue
businessman. Mr. Fuccillo succeeds
Frank Zanazzi in that post. Other officers
for the year are Richard Mayer, first vice
president; Mrs. Robert Sheridan, second
vice president, and Miss Marie Giuri, secretary.
Private John S. Seiler, son of Mr.
and Mrs. M.C. Seiler of Patchogue, has
completed Marine Corps basic training
at Parris Island, S.C., and is presently
graduating from school at Camp Pendleton, Calif.
Frank Holz and Frank G. Simson,
partners in Holz Motors Inc., Medford
Avenue, Patchogue, shook hands recently
in honor of 15 years in business. The
partnership started out as a late-model
used car operation and is today the largest
exclusive Volvo dealership in Suffolk.
Miss Antoinette DiStefano, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Vincenzo DiStefano,
residing at Lillian Place, Patchogue,
and attending Patchogue-Medford
High School, was recently engaged to
Thomas Ragazzi, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Rudolph Ragazzi, residing at Herbert
Circle, Patchogue. He is a graduate of
Patchogue-Medford High School and is
attending Suffolk Community College.
The wedding is scheduled for July 5, 1975.
Army Private George M. Meli, son of
Mrs. Josephine Meli of Morris Avenue,
North Patchogue, has recently completed
eight weeks of infantry basic training at
Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. He is receiving
specialized training in heavy equipment
operation. Pvt. Meli attended Patchogue-
Medford Public Schools prior to entering military service.
“We did what we’re capable of doing,”
said Raider basketball coach Don
Campbell following Patchogue’s final
win of the year, an 87-72 defeat of Deer
Park. LeRoy Felton, Bud Jennings and Bill
Thieben teamed up for 26 of the Raiders’
30 fourth-quarter points. Chris Meyer’s
defense was a big factor in the Raiders’ success.
John E. Davis, son of Mrs. Roseann
Davis of Cedar Avenue, was promoted
to Army Specialist 4 while serving as a
rifleman with the 3rd Infantry Division in Germany.
Robert E. Tripoli of East Patchogue
graduated Jan. 10 from the Naval
Training Center, Orlando, Fla., and is
now stationed at Memphis, Tenn., to
begin school for advanced aviation technician.
Thomas Love, son of Mr. and Mrs.
William Love of Academy Lane, Bellport,
celebrated his birthday on Feb. 14 with a
dinner party in his honor. Helping him
to celebrate were his brother, Daniel,
Michael Busch, Chris Baaden, Tommy
Baldwin, Allison Perry, Jane Sutherland
and Bobby Willen.
Jamie Iadereste celebrated her 3rd
birthday on Sunday with a family party
given in her honor at the home of her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Iadereste of Station Road.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Klein of Country
Club Road celebrated their 30th wedding
anniversary on Saturday by dining at the
Steak Pub restaurant in Patchogue.
David A. Ebersole, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Ebersole of General McLean
Drive, was named to the Dean’s List
for the fourth quarter at Northeastern
University in Boston, Mass. He is
enrolled in the College of Business Administration.
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Rene Sr. of
Maple Avenue, Bellport, announce the
engagement of their daughter, Lynn, to
Vincent Laurinaitis Jr., son of Mr. and
Mrs. Vincent Laurinaitis of MacDonald
Avenue, Bellport. Miss Rene will graduate
from Bellport High School in June and
will attend Jefferson Shores Secretarial
School in September. Mr. Laurinaitis is
a 1972 graduate of Bellport High School
and is employed at Brady Mower Service
in East Patchogue. A September 1976
wedding is being planned.

The senior class of Patchogue-Medford
High School is currently holding
auditions for its senior show, “Hello
Dolly,” to be directed by Bert Pollock.
Over 200 hopefuls are demonstrating
their skills at dancing, singing and
acting, with the hope of being selected for a role.
Second Lieutenant Kevin A. McCarthy,
son of Mr. and Mrs. John F. McCarthy of
Northridge Street, Patchogue, has been
awarded silver wings upon graduation
from U.S. Air Force navigator training at
Mather AFB, Calif. He is a 1967 graduate
of Patchogue High School, received his
BA and MA degrees from Morehead
State University and was commissioned
in 1974 through Officers Training School.
Best of the lot at the Oregon Avenue
School on the wrestling mats this year
were Joe Palazzo (5-1), Darren Haverty
(8-2), Craig Anderson (5-1), Richard Freel
(8-2), Richard Klarman (5-2) and David
Sierson (3-0). The six grapplers could
be a boost to varsity coach Ray Fell’s
hopes for improvement next year by
Patchogue’s Red Raiders.
On Feb. 1, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Palermo
and Maria Chiavola held a surprise
anniversary party at their home in East
Patchogue to honor their parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Vincent Chiavola, on their 25th
wedding anniversary. Forty guests were
in attendance. A birthday cake was also
presented to Mr. Chiavola for his 47th
birthday and to Mr. Stephen Palermo to
celebrate his 60th birthday.
Bob Caldwell of Hedges Avenue, East
Patchogue, and his friend, Roger Schait
of Brookhaven, spent the weekend of
Feb. 15 at Lake George attending the
1975 Lake George Winter Carnival. Mr.
Schait participated in the Obstacle and
Drag Race of the Four-Wheel Drive
competition. He took first place in the
Drag Race and received a trophy.
Bellport Brownie Troop 1383 went to
the Hampton Bays Roller Rink on Friday
morning with the other Girl Scout troops
in the area. The girls who attended were
Donna Hanson, Charlene Hawthorne,
Christine Veitch, Allison Perry, Jo-Ann
Mack, Laura Jean Bontempi, Kimberly
Rodriguez, Libby Suk, Susan and Elena Cicalese.
Miss Maryanne Reilly of Livingston
Road and Miss Trissie Holland of South
Howells Point Road returned home after
spending 10 days on a skiing trip to Watertown.
Daniel Monaghan, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Hugh Monaghan of North Howells
Point Road, celebrated his 6th birthday
on Feb. 25. Daniel was entertained on
Saturday at the Grant’s City Bradford
House Birthday Corner with his friends
John Damask, Craig Fish, Christopher
Maletta, Jeanne Veitch, Lori Cessman,
Sei Iwai, Daniel Sciarini and Kevin and Christopher Goff.
Mr. and Mrs. Al Goodenough of
Michigan Avenue celebrated their 34th
wedding anniversary on Saturday with family and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Viola have moved
into their new residence on Association
Road from Bellport Avenue.
Mr. and Mrs. Clark H. Irving of
Woodland Park Road, Bellport, announce
the engagement of their daughter, Susan,
to Willet R. Schraft, son of Mrs. Grace
Stone of Norwich, N.Y. and the late Louis
Schraft. Both are graduates of the State
University College at Buffalo and are
employed in upstate New York. A July 13
wedding is planned.
Dennis DiDio of New Jersey Avenue
and Keith Lockwood of General McLean
Drive returned home on Saturday from a
10-day tour of Florida.
Kathleen Waters, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Bernard Waters of Montauk
Highway, Brookhaven, celebrated her
9th birthday last Friday evening with a
dinner and slumber party. Her guests
were Kelly Gallagher, Debbie Spitznagel,
Kathy Meinhold, Jane Leistman, Jackie
Walsh and Kathy Iascavoli.
