Canada - (lovely cool Canada-we hope!) - 10
nights, incl. 3 nights on the Island of Coudres.
10 breakfasts, 7 dinners and 1 lunch. Two
casinos: Casino DeCharlevoix and Casino
DeMontreal. Guided tours of Montreal, Quebec
City and the Island of Coudres. Baie Saint Paul
and artist paradise., St. Anne DeBeaupre Shrine,
Notre Dame Basilica, 1000 Island Skydeck in
Lansdowne, ON. You need 11 days to do all of

Thursday, Sept. 10
Depart Wal-mart on rt. 544 & 17 bypass at 7:00
am on Thursday, September 10 - rest stops &
lunch on your own. Stop at Cabbage Patch Museum.
Arrive Helen about 3:00 pm. check into hotel.
Free time.
6:00 pm depart for dinner (a local restaurant -
a short way from town. Menu pending. 8:00 pm
return hotel.
Friday, Sept. 11
Breakfast at hotel. 9:00 am tour guide pick up.
Tour the area until noon: winery, old mill,
general stores, etc. Return to hotel at noon.
Afternoon free for touring, shopping and lunch.
5:30 board bus for Festhalle. dinner,
entertainment and dancing - included! (Beer and
wine is on you.) Depart for hotel to be
announced.
Saturday, Sept. 12
Hotel check out by 11:00 am. October fest parade
at noon. We will stay in town until 2:00 pm and
depart for home. Rest stop enroute. Dinner stop
about 6:00 pm included.
For those who have not been to Helen, GA., you
are in for a treat. As you drive into the town
you will believe you have taken a short ride to
Bavaria or Germany. There are many shops selling
European items, ie., Delft porcelain, etc. Also
lots of goodies to nibble. Our evening in the
Festhalle includes Germany cuisine and oompha
bands. (Lots of beer on you.)

April 4
Azalea
Festival in Wilmington

A group of 101 50's Plus members went to the
Azalea Festival in Wilmington. Great
weather, great parade, great fun and wonderful
fellowship. We are in front of a three masted
sailing ship. It is on its way to Boston
for the tall ship display in July.
April 14-16
Catawba, Speedway & Ranch Tour
has been cancelled. We did
not have enough response to take the trip. Our
events are all offered at cost and, therefore,
we have no "slush fund" to fill in empty seats.
May 9-17
San Antonio, TX - 9 days, 8 nights, 14 meals;
8 breakfasts and 6 dinners - Guided tour of San
Antonio, cruise at San Antonio's famous River
Walk District, guided tour of the LBJ Ranch, El
Mercado, San Fernando Cathedral, the Alamo and
more. Oh yes, we will stop at a casino on our
way home, via spacious video equipped motor
coach.

May 20 Wed. Day Trip:
Lunch and boat tour of the Inlet with a beach
walk. 12 Noon lunch at Backfinz, Murrells
Inlet. Choice of Maryland Crab Soup or Cream of
Crab Soup; plus choice of one: crab cake, shrimp
salad., soft shell crab or grilled marinated
chicken with French fries or cole slaw. Soft
drinks or iced tea included. If you have not had
Backfinz crab, you have not had Maryland style
crab. Rich does it the very best.
Then at 2:15 pm, aboard a boat at Capt. Dick's
Marina for a trip around the Inlet with our
guide Rob Sims. Rob will "attempt" to educate us
on the many facets of this area. We will do a
beach walk; discuss the shells and aquatic
creatures seen on the walk. Also, a cage will be
dropped and picked up on return. He will then
discuss the contents. Return to shore
approximately 5:30 pm. Cost is $40.00 pp, tax
and gratuities included.
